Anthony M. Townsend, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Delaware. He learned his M.S. and Ph.D. in organizational behavior and industrial relations from Virginia Tech, and his B.A. in English from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Townsend’s research interests include teamwork and technology, and the role of technology in organizations. His articles have appeared in numerous scholarly and applied journals, such as Communications ofthe ACM, Information Systems Research, Industrial Relations, Journal of International Business Studies,Journal of Labor Research, Public Personnel Management, and Academy of Management Executive.
Dr. Townsend was also awarded (along with co-author Dow Scott) the 1994 Yoder-Heneman Award for human resources research by the Society for Human Resource Management. In addition to his scholarly work, Dr. Townsend has worked with a number of Fortune 500 firms and continues in an active consulting practice.
