Richard R. Young, Ph.D., C.P.M.
Richard R. Young is Professor of Supply Chain Management at the School of Business Administration and Director of the M.B.A. Program at the Capital College of The Pennsylvania State University. For the past 15 years, he has facilitated the import processes benchmarking consortium for Penn State’s Center for Supply Chain Research. Prior to his career in academia, Dr. Young headed procurement at the Sprague Electric Company and the Life Sciences Group at American Hoechst Corporation, and was director of international distribution for the Industrial Chemicals Group of Hoechst Celanese. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (United Kingdom), a Senior Research Fellow of the Institute for Supply Management, a 2003 Fulbright Scholar, and a member of the editorial boards of Transportation Journal and Journal of Supply Chain Management. Dr. Young holds a B.S. in operations management from Rider University, an M.B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, and a Ph.D. in business logistics from Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University.
