Meet the Center's Newest Fellow: Darcie Piechowski
For several years, our Center has promoted and welcomed dialogue with government stakeholders around how best to encourage innovation and social media; our work in this space is led by our Social Media and Innovation Fellow. I am pleased to introduce the new occupant of that seat, Darcie Piechowski. Darcie succeeds Gadi Ben-Yehuda, who recently moved to be the Director of Social Media with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). As Social Media & Innovation Fellow for the Center, Darcie will explore the inventive ways governmental organizations serve citizens through their use of collaborative platforms and technology. Darcie will build on Gadi's strong foundation, continuing to develop ideas that can support agencies around innovative ideas and programs, and how agencies can best leverage the latest trends in social media. Darcie comes to the Center with great experience in this topic based on her role as Communications & Strategy Manager for IBM’s Public Sector services organization. In that capacity, Darcie develops and executes innovative initiatives aimed at improving the internal culture and performance of the organization and its 4,000 consultants and IT specialists; she has also led an executive eminence program through which she helps executives improve their digital eminence through social media and other activities. Previously, Darcie assisted public sector clients in achieving their missions as a consultant with expertise in analytics, business development, and marketing. Please connect with Darcie via the Center's website, on Twitter, or on LinkedIn. We look forward to Darcie leading the Center's continued engagement in helping government address emerging trends in these critically important areas.
